Shandong Provincial Association for AIDS Control and Prevention: "Exploration and Practice for Participation of Social Organizations in HIV/AIDS Response" was Published
Recently, the "Exploration and Practice for Participation of Social Organizations in HIV/AIDS Response" compiled under the leadership of Shandong Provincial Association for AIDS Control and Prevention was officially published by China Population Publishing House. The compilation of this book started in May 2014. After three drafts and finalization, this book was sent to the publishing house in December 2015. The chief editor is Professor Fu Jihua, deputy secretary general and office director of Shandong Provincial Association for AIDS Control and Prevention and leader of the AIDS Division of Shandong Provincial CDC. Deputy directors are CDC professionals responsible for promoting the participation of social organizations in HIV/AIDS response. All editors have made full use of their own expertise, theoretical knowledge and practical experience in compiling this book.
This book consists of seven chapters, covering social organizations participating in HIV/AIDS response, practices of Shandong Provincial Association for AIDS Control and Prevention, practice of China-Gates Foundation AIDS Cooperation Program, practice of community-based organizations in China-Global Fund AIDS Program, practice of the National AIDS Social Mobilization Program, practice of social organizations in HIV/AIDS response and priorities of Shandong Provincial Association for AIDS Control and Prevention.
The original intention of compiling this book was to review and summarize the participation of national and international social organizations in HIV/AIDS programs in which Shandong Provincial Association for AIDS Control and Prevention served as management units or implementing units. The publication of this book is conducive to promoting communication among social organizations in the fight against HIV/AIDS, helping social organizations learn from each other and form a strong synergy in containing the HIV/AIDS epidemic and further boosting the implementation of HIV/AIDS activities. This book features efficient generalizability, scientific soundness and replication. Specifically, experiences and good practices of different social organizations were summarized and refined according to management mechanisms of different programs, and typical cases were provided for social organizations to communicate.
