JICA - Gansu HIV/AIDS Prevention Project
Gansu CDC formally applied for JICA - Gansu HIV/AIDS Prevention Project in March 2005. From October 20 to 30, 2005, a mission contracted by JICA visited Gansu to conduct situational analysis and needs assessment in CDCs, hospitals and communities in Lanzhou and Tianshui. The mission was satisfied with efforts made by Gansu in response to HIV/AIDS and identified Gansu as the project province.
JICA - Gansu HIV/AIDS Prevention Project has a total budget of RMB 24 million from June 15, 2006 to June 14, 2009. Project area is Gansu. Project components include public awareness raising, outreach services, peer education, condom promotion and use, VCT and HIV/AIDS care and support. Target populations include the general public, migrants, CSWs and MSM.
